Please Take Action For Chemicals Policy Reform In The U.S.

Last year, Maine passed its Kid-Safe Products Act by a nearly unanimous bipartisan vote, blazing a trail toward safer chemicals and healthy families. But, state action alone will not protect our health and environment. And the federal law that should protect our families from dangerous chemicals in everyday products -- the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) -- is badly broken. We need to get Congress and the rest of the country on Maine's good path!

Please send a message to Senator Snowe and Senator Collins today, urging them to support Maine-style chemical policy reform for the entire country.

Go to the fax message page now or read on for more information.

We need the rest of the country to join us in fixing our broken chemicals safety system!

We're asking our senators to continue Maine's leadership in creating better, safer laws about the chemicals that are used in everyday products, by actively supporting chemical policy reform legislation at the federal level that:
  • Immediately initiates action on chemicals we know are very dangerous;
  • Requires basic health and safety information from chemical manufacturers;
  • Protects all people, especially the most vulnerable groups, using the best science; and
  • Safeguards Maine's progress under any federal TSCA reform.
Action Needed:

We have delivered to Senators Snowe and Collins more than 1,500 postcards asking them to continue Maine's leadership in protecting people from the harm that chemicals in everyday products can pose. Each post-card was signed by a Mainer just like you.

The link below will take you to a page where you can draft a message to our senators, and automatically send a fax to their offices. You will be able to write a personalized message, or simply send the prepared message.

Go to the fax message page now.
