 Physicians for Social Responsibility/Maine
Physicians for Social Responsibility/Maine is the local chapter of Physicians for Social Responsibility (PSR), and is made up of physicians, healthcare providers, students, and other concerned citizens from across the state. PSR is committed to the elimination of nuclear and other weapons of mass destruction, the achievement of a sustainable environment, and the reduction of violence and its causes.

PSR Board Member Dr. Lani Graham and PSR Executive Director Melissa Boyd provide important advice and leadership to the Alliance from the medical community. Vince Markowski, PhD, Assistant Professor of Psychopharmacology at the University of Southern Maine, was a principal investigator in the Body of Evidence study.

PSR/Maine's Executive Director Melissa Boyd serves on the Organizing and Communications teams of the Alliance. PSR/Maine has developed educational materials and lectures on environmental health issues, and has given grand rounds presentations on the theme at medical facilities throughout Maine. PSR/Maine played a key role in the development of the Body of Evidence Report, drawing on the expertise of Environmental Public Health Consultant Dr. Rick Donahue. PSR also has hosted two major conferences entitled, Making the Connection, geared toward medical professionals, and designed to educate them about the links between toxic chemicals and human health disorders. The third of these conferences will take place this October.
