Rooted in the Hebrew and Christian Scriptures, the Maine Council of Churches' (MCC's) mission is to inspire congregations and persons of faith to unite in good works that build a culture of justice, compassion and peace. MCC helps congregations build sustainable community through practicing environmental and economic justice in their own neighborhoods and beyond.

In its work with The Alliance, MCC focuses primarily on grassroots organizing activities.
